Wicca Phase Springs Eternal 'Mossy Oak Shadow' out today!

"Meet Me Anywhere" Featuring Ethel Cain

Today, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal (aka Pennsylvania-based singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Adam Andrzejewski) releases his latest stylistic reinvention, Mossy Oak Shadow. The album foregoes the rap/electronic production that's defined much of WPSE's work and instead applies his trademark melancholy mysticism to a set of stirring folk rock songs that prove Andrzejewski's only limit is his own imagination.

Earlier this week WPSE shared one more longing single, "Meet Me Anywhere" featuring guest vocals from none other than Ethel Cain. The track follows "Magic Moment," "Settler's Bend," "Horseback," and "Enchantment" and immediately envelopes the listener in the intriguing moods and melodies of Mossy Oak Shadow. It's an earnest and deeply satisfying duet between two artists whose work has often been defined by subversion and surprises, and an intriguing entryway into the eclectic world of Wicca Phase Springs Eternal.

Recorded live with Andrzejewski and producer/engineer Ben Greenberg (Depeche Mode, Drab Majesty, Show Me The Body) accompanied by only a drummer and keyboardist, Mossy Oak Shadow showcases the timelessly compelling songwriting that's always been at the core of Andrzejewski's work. “I always kind of thought that as long as I have the Wicca Phase Springs Eternal name that I can do whatever I want,” he explains. “The name provides a framework for the lyrics and aesthetics of the project–my songwriting with a mystical overlay to it–and as long as I can make something work within that, then the genre doesn’t totally matter.”

That daring creative mentality is what steered Andrzejewski when he first started the WPSE project, through his work as a co-founder of the influential GothBoiClique collective, or as member of Thraxxhouse and Misery Club, and even with his punk side project, Pay For Pain. Still, few could have guessed that the new proper Wicca Phase Springs Eternal release would be a set of country-leaning folk songs performed without a wink in sight. As with all things WPSE, Mossy Oak Shadow finds Andrzejewski fully committing, and in many ways the record feels like it’s simply leaning harder into parts of his musical DNA that have always been there. “The temptation is to call it a country record," he says. "I don't really think it’s that–but there’s acoustic guitar and slide guitar, and I think my interests and themes do have elements of country in sort of an archetypical way."

Wicca Phase Springs Eternal will be performing throughout 2025 with a full live band, including UK dates with Turnover and US headlining shows. See full itinerary below.

Runnner "A Welcome Kind of Weakness" out today

US tour dates through October

Today, Runnner (Los Angeles-based songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Noah Weinman) has released his sophomore full-length, A Welcome Kind of Weakness. The album finds Runnner diving into a widescreen sound reminiscent of the early 2000s indie rock boom. "Claritin" conjures up the nostalgia of early Coldplay or Band of Horses and revitalizes them with a modern indie folk spin.

Weinman discussed the new song saying: "It’s kind of about allergies. But mostly I think it’s just asking a question of whether I’d prefer to feel it all if it means feeling bad, or choose to feel nothing at all. It was a very fun one to record. It’s less band-y than the other songs and maybe more similar to older Runnner songs where I throw a bunch of random instruments together and see what works. The slide lead is my car key on a guitar with one string, which was recorded in a much older session with my friend Daniel, who so graciously gave me the stem to fly into this version."

A Welcome Kind of Weakness emerged from a simultaneous tear in Weinman’s body and life. Written during months of bedrest and recovery from a torn achilles tendon, compounded by the drastic upheaval of a breakup, the album feels defined by change and fittingly, Runnner’s sound has undergone a drastic sonic shift to accompany it. The result is Runnner's first studio-recorded album, a propulsive, high fidelity document of trying to move past physical and emotional pain to come out the other side stronger and bolder than ever.

2025 will also see Runnner returning to the road with a lengthy schedule of North American tour dates, as well as select UK in-store dates. See full itinerary below.

Two new songs from "I Will Swim To You: A Tribute to Jason Molina" out today

Covers from Trace Mountains and Teen Suicide

Run For Cover Records recently announced I Will Swim to You: A Tribute to Jason Molina, and today they're sharing two more songs from it: "The Dark Don't Hide It" covered by Trace Mountains, and "Whip Poor Will" covered by Teen Suicide.

Due out September 5th, I Will Swim to You: A Tribute to Jason Molina celebrates one of the most enduring and impactful songwriters of the past thirty years, with twelve loving covers performed by some of the brightest stars in modern indie. RFC have already shared MJ Lenderman's cover of "Just Be Simple" and Sun June's cover of "Leave The City" (garnering attention from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, Paste Magazine, and many more), and Trace Mountains' "The Dark Don't Hide It" and Teen Suicide's "Whip Poor Will" offer two more phenomenal renditions of Molina's works.

Dave Benton of Trace Mountain discussed their cover, saying: "I first heard about Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. when I was trying to find a label to put out my 2020 record Lost in the Country. An A&R I was chatting with said my songs reminded them of Jason's and it prompted a dive into his catalog that turned into a minor obsession with certain songs. The label conversation eventually fizzled out, but I was still glad to have discovered all Jason Molina's wonderful music. 'The Dark Don't Hide It' was always my favorite song of his, so when I was asked to contribute to this compilation I thought a piano-forward arrangement of the song might be kind of nice. So that's what we did! Thanks for listening."

Sam Ray of Teen Suicide (who recently released a new two-song single) discussed their cover, saying: "Jason Molina's music, particularly his records as Songs: Ohia, have been a huge part of my life. His music has gotten me through some of the very dark times in my life, and his songwriting has been immensely influential to me as well. I think the same could be said for a lot of our bandmates over the years, particularly Sean Mercer, who played with Teen Suicide for about seven or eight years. Soon after he joined the band full-time we started doing a cover of 'Whip Poor Will' at our shows. We'd play a version similar to the b-side from Magnolia Electric Co—stripped down to two guitars and nothing else, Sean would sing Molina's lead, and I'd sing Jennie Benford’s.

When RFC asked if we'd like to be part of a compilation honoring Molina's music and legacy, I asked immediately if we could record a cover of it, hoping to capture the version we'd been playing for so many years. Thankfully we had a chance to reconvene and plan out our cover—doing it almost the same as before but now with the addition of Ahren Buchheisster playing the pedal steel as well. All these years later it's still one of my favorite songs ever; I couldn't be happier to have it be part of this wonderful compilation."

Jason Molina's expansive catalog—from Songs: Ohia, to Magnolia Electric Co., to the work under his own name—has become one of the most important forces in the musical ecosystem of 2025. His distinct voice, stunning lyricism, and knack for longing melodies can be clearly heard not only in the current resurgence of alt country and Americana, but also in the worlds of indie rock, lofi, slowcore, and beyond. I Will Swim to You: A Tribute to Jason Molina captures a snapshot of Molina's deep and continuing influence with artists like Lenderman, Sun June, Horse Jumper of Love, Sadurn, Hand Habits, Friendship, and many more providing passionate renditions of songs from across his discography. As part of the tribute, 10% of the profits from each record will be donated to MusiCares®, a nonprofit that helped Molina when he was struggling with addiction.

I Will Swim to You arrives with a beautifully painted cover by artist William Schaff, who created the owl cover art of Molina’s Magnolia Electric Co. album, and is being released in collaboration with Static & Distance, the Secretly Canadian run Jason Molina fan community, who have an exclusive vinyl variant for subscribers. In addition to the physical and digital release of I Will Swim to You , Run For Cover will also be releasing a physical-only split 7”, featuring a never before released demo recording of “The Last 3 Human Words” by Molina on the A-side and Lenderman’s cover of "Just Be Simple" on the B-side.

Camp Cope announce "Live at Sydney Opera House", out 10/17

Available digitally exclusively through Bandcamp

Pre-order "Live at Sydney Opera House" Vinyl

Naarm/Melbourne-founded power-emo trio Camp Cope are thrilled to announce their final show at Sydney Opera House will be released on limited run, one-time-only vinyl pressing via longtime labels Poison City Records and Run For Cover Records, and the full performance available digitally only through Bandcamp. Camp Cope Live at Sydney Opera House is out October 17, pre-order now from HERE. Full track list details are below, and once the vinyl is gone, it’s gone.

Camp Cope - Georgia Maq, Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich and Sarah ‘Thomo’ Thompson, alongside their unofficial fourth member, multi-instrumentalist Jennifer Aslett (San Cisco, Julia Jacklin) dive into their acclaimed catalogue spanning three studio albums - Camp Cope (2016), How To Socialise & Make Friends (2018), Running with the Hurricane (2022) - and the 7” split with Cayetana (2017) in the performance with very special guests including Julia Jacklin (‘The Screaming Planet’, ‘Sing Your Heart Out’) and their family and friends.

Camp Cope Live at Sydney Opera House also features the only recorded performance of the 10-minute version of The Opener, an extended cut Giselle Au-Nhien Nguyen noted for The Guardian gave “additional insights into the troubling, insidious signs and a glimpse into the heartbroken, hurt young woman she [Georgia Maq] was… from frail hurt to rage, fury and self-affirmation, Maq transformed to take the power back. It was a beautiful and symbolic way for the song, and the band, to farewell the world – something that started as one woman’s way to heal and became a collective cry for something better.”

On the release of Camp Cope Live at Sydney Opera House, the now Los Angeles-based Georgia Maq who is on the cusp of releasing her new solo EP God’s Favourite (Sept 4) shares, “This release is special because it's a record of the very last time we were in a room together. Kelly and Thomo changed me and the three of us will always be Camp Cope.” Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich, who recently announced her debut book has been acquired by Penguin Random House, adds, “There was a time they said we’d ruined our careers for being too loud, too opinionated. Then we sold out the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House, with a room full of people who’d probably been told they were too much of something. Too loud, too weird, too soft, too angry, too emotional, too queer, too honest. I’m so grateful this album exists as a forever record of the night we all loudly filled one of the greatest rooms in the country with everything they had wanted to silence."

PRAISE FOR CAMP COPE'S FINAL SHOW

“Camp Cope might be hanging up their hats, but they’re leaving behind a legacy… a joyous, affirming celebration” - The Guardian (★★★★★)

“I genuinely feel like Camp Cope will be looked back on as one of the great Australian bands that will impact on so many young people in the future. Their stories and music remain undefeated. Thank you Camp Cope.” - The AU Review (★★★★★)

“perfect bookend in the eight years of Camp Cope… their final show was an emotional event; as someone who has spent 25 years working in the Australian music industry, and someone who has had their life saved by music on more than one occasion, but also someone who has faced a big ol' pile of misogyny as both a professional and a punter, having a band that dragged it all out into the open, where it can never be shoved back in and ignored, it so very important.” - Scenestr

“Camp Cope performed their final show in the way they always existed: unpretentious, no egos, no encores, a little bit cheeky, unafraid to challenge the status quo, without histrionics and pyro, and completely authentic to who they always were: three friends who happened to make great punk tunes.” - The Music

AFI Joins RFC, "Silver Bleeds The Black Sun..." out 10/3

Stream "Behind the Clock"

We are ecstatic to announce AFI have joined the Run For Cover Roster and their new album Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… will be out October 3rd. Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… marks the twelfth album from AFI and will include the lead single “Behind the Clock,” which ushers in the bold new era for the iconic band. Alongside the new single, AFI share a music video directed by Gilbert Trejo.

Speaking about the “Behind the Clock” video, director Trejo offers, “We wanted the video to feel like you’re seeing something you shouldn’t. In effect you are, because that’s how Davey writes lyrics. He’s expressing himself so openly, that you’re let behind this curtain. It’s a world that most artists don’t cut to, marrow deep.”

Sharing the experience working with Trejo, vocalist Davey Havok shares, “Gilbert’s video has sublimated the essence of ‘Behind the Clock.’ His vision and expertise is inspiring. Working with him was a privilege and utter joy. He is an artist of the purest form.”

For more than three decades, AFI has been in a nearly constant state of reinvention. The band have made it a point to evolve with every album – sometimes dramatically so – never allowing themselves to become too comfortable in one genre or rest on any of their impressive career laurels. It’s an approach that has grown their audience but also challenged it with a sonic identity that can shift in wild, unexpected directions. Now with Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, AFI are once again at the start of an exciting new chapter, only this time they’ve even managed to surprise themselves.

The goal of Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… was to make an album with a singular mood, something dreamy and ethereal, and the band members found themselves diving headfirst into influences that had always been deeply embedded in AFI’s musical core, but now were being brought to the forefront. The result is an album that feels out of time, at once familiar and fresh, drawing on classic sounds and reinterpreting them through a modern lens. Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… is dark and otherworldly, but also grandiose and stately, biting and beautiful in equal measure—in other words, it’s very AFI, yet not quite like any version of the band you’ve ever heard before.

It’s this combination of endless creative daring, deftly wielded influences, and above all else, an unshakeable sense of self that’s allowed AFI to stay relevant for more than 30 years, often leading the way through emerging musical moments. From their scrappy roots as a high school hardcore band oin the early ‘90s (Answer That and Stay Fashionable, Very Proud of Ya and Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes), to their dark melodic punk reinvention at the turn of the century (Black Sails in the Sunset and The Art of Drowning), to their crossover into mainstream stardom in the early 2000s (Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground) and their years as shapeshifting alternative rock journeymen (Crash Love, Burials, The Blood Album, and Bodies), the band has survived and thrived by staunchly being themselves—no matter what that is.

This fall, AFI will embark on their headline North American tour with special guests TR/ST to celebrate the release of Silver Bleeds The Black Sun... The 24-date run will begin on September 30th in Madison, WI with stops in Chicago, Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver, before wrapping November 5th in San Diego, CA. The tour marks AFI’s first full-scale outing since their celebrated 2021 release Bodies, and will offer fans the chance to experience songs from across their extensive catalog, delivered with the band’s signature electrifying performance. Tickets available HERE

Teen Suicide Release New Two-Song Single, Fade 2 Blue / New Tattoo

Performing at Levitation Fest, Furnace Fest, Upcoming UK Tour Dates

Teen Suicide have returned with a new two-song single Fade 2 Blue / New Tattoo, out today.

The songs are the first new Teen Suicide music since the release of their 2022 album, honeybee table at the butterfly feast (which drew attention from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, The FADER, BrooklynVegan, Paste Magazine, and more) and they find the band dipping back into charmingly raw home-recording. "Fade 2 Blue" is an instantly satisfying blast of distortion and melody that reminds listeners just how adept
Teen Suicide mastermind Sam Ray can be with a hook, while "New Tattoo" strips back the volume and leans into Ray's impressive fretwork and gentle harmonies.

Ray discussed the new songs saying:
"These two songs were recorded in the brief period before Niko and Flip joined our band last year, probably summer / fall 24? So it's just Kit andI on these two tracks, and they're very home-recorded as so many of the best Teen Suicide songs have been over the years! So excited to finally have them up so you can all hear, I hope you like them as much as we do, and I hope it makes yall excited as we are for our next album, which will be quite a big shock after these... but in a good way, I promise."

Since forming Teen Suicide in 2009, Ray has led the project through endless sonic shifts and evolutions, always leaving listeners on their toes but completely along for the ride. From scrappy lo-fi punk to bombastic post-rock to ambient soundscapes, the most consistent thing about Teen Suicide and its various permutations is Ray's intense creativity and the deeply compelling songwriting that results from it.

Teen Suicide will be performing at this year's Levitation Fest and Furnace Fest, as well as a run of UK tour dates in December. See full itinerary below.

Upcoming Shows:
09/25 Austin, TX @ Levitation Fest
10/03 Birmingham, AL @ Furnace Fest

Nihilistic Easyrider's debut album DELUXE EDITION is out today

Watch new video for "Well Kept Secret"

Nihilistic Easyrider (Narrow Head frontman Jacob Duarte) releases his debut album DELUXE EDITION today. Make no mistake, Duarte isn’t going solo. DELUXE EDITION is a mixtape of sorts, a collection of songs written at various intervals throughout Duarte’s 10+ year career. These songs traverse a wide-range of stylistic references, from saccharine Y2K emo and young-dumb-and-full-of pop punk to Soviet fuzz fueled alt and pure Evan Dando-core verse-chorus-verse-chorus-done pop rock. Brought to life by a cast of characters including Narrow Head drummer Carson Wilcox, producer Graham Hunt, plus features from Momma’s Allegra Weingarten and Etta Friedman, this debut album still provides with masterfully crafted and hook-drenched renditions of Duarte’s signature songwriting aesthetics.

On the album’s focus track “Well Kept Secret” reaches the heights of DELUXE EDITION’s romantic saturation. Available today alongside a third video by director Nate Kahn, the single blends twin guitar and synth lines with digitally corrupted flourishes into a rich yet unassuming dose of psychedelic-tinged emo pop, over which Duarte ruminates upon one of life’s most dangerous vices: those mutually destructive relationships that you not only can’t seem to quit, but further have no intention of quitting in the first place.

Nihilistic Easyrider hits the road for a North American headlining tour in September with On Being an Angel joining as support. The run kicks off with hometown performances in Houston and Austin ahead of Chicago, Toronto, NYC, D.C. dates and more. See below for a full list of dates. Tickets are on sale here.

Upcoming Tour Dates:

Sep 13: Austin, TX - Mohawk (Inside)
Sep 16: Chicago, IL - Subterranean

Wicca Phase Springs Eternal Announces "Mossy Oak Shadow"

The one and only Wicca Phase Springs Eternal (aka Pennsylvania-based singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Adam Andrzejewski) has returned with perhaps his most dramatic stylistic reinvention to date: his upcoming full-length, Mossy Oak Shadow. Due out September 19th from Run For Cover Records, the album finds Andrzejewski setting aside the rap production that's defined much of his work to date, instead applying his trademark melancholy mysticism to a set of sparse and stirring folk rock songs that show Wicca Phase Springs Eternal's only limit is his own imagination.

Preorders Available Now

Today WPSE is introducing the world of Mossy Oak Shadow with two new songs, "Horseback" and "Enchantment," which showcase the album's raw and hazy mood, recorded live with Andrzejewski and producer/engineer Ben Greenberg (Depeche Mode, Drab Majesty, Show Me The Body) accompanied by only a drummer and keyboardist. The songs highlight the incredible knack for heartbreaking melodies and longing lyricism that's always been at the center of WPSE's music, no matter what sonic palette Andrzejewski has used.

“I always kind of thought that as long as I have the Wicca Phase Springs Eternal name that I can do whatever I want,” Andrzejewski explains. “The name provides a framework for the lyrics and aesthetics of the project–my songwriting with a mystical overlay to it–and as long as I can make something work within that, then the genre doesn’t totally matter.” That daring creative mentality is what steered Andrzejewski when he first started the WPSE project, through his work as a co-founder of the influential GothBoiClique collective, or as member of Thraxxhouse and Misery Club, and even with his punk side project, Pay For Pain. Still, few could have guessed that the new proper Wicca Phase Springs Eternal release would be a set of country-leaning folk songs performed without a wink in sight. As with all things WPSEMossy Oak Shadow finds Andrzejewski fully committing, and in many ways the record feels like it’s simply leaning harder into parts of his musical DNA that have always been there. “The temptation is to call it a country record," he says. "I don't really think it’s that–but there’s acoustic guitar and slide guitar, and I think my interests and themes do have elements of country in sort of an archetypical way."
