Run For Cover is an uncompromisingly independent record label based in Boston, MA, focused on a wide spectrum of alternative music. Started in 2004 by Jeff Casazza, RFC has worked with 100+ artists, issuing over 300 physical releases for bands like AFI, Citizen, Title Fight, Alex G, Modern Baseball, Camp Cope, Tigers Jaw, Turnover, Basement, mewithoutYou, Nothing, and Fiddlehead.
Driven by a love for discovering and nourishing developing artists, RFC’s longevity can largely be attributed to the labels involvement in helping foster communities of forward thinking artists around the world. More than an online store or soul-less copyright on a screen, Run For Cover is dedicated to contend that record labels - at least the ones doing it right, have a vital place in the independent music world.
Run For Cover constantly looks back to, and takes influence from a time when institutions like Drag City, Sub Pop, and Revelation shaped subculture through zines, bootlegs, house shows, record stores, and meaningful physical releases, all while treating artists fairly and fundamentally ignoring the mainstream.
