Runnner Announces Deluxe Version of Debut Album 'Like Dying Stars...'

Earlier this year, Runnner (aka LA-based songwriter Noah Weinman) released his debut full-length, Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out, drawing praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The FADER, Stereogum, Uproxx, Paste Magazine, BrooklynVegan, Line of Best Fit, and many more. Now Weinman has announced a deluxe version of the record that features a whopping eleven additional tracks.

Due out this Friday, December 8th from Run For Cover Records, Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out Deluxe, includes three b-sides from the album's sessions as well as live cuts from the Leeds date of Runnner's recent UK shows, and a stripped down performance from the band's Yellow House Session. Today Runnner has shared one of the b-sides, "another sublet" which offers an extra dose of Weinman's trademark hifi/lofi dynamics, intricate arrangements, and inviting melodies.

Since 2017 Weinman has been releasing music as Runnner, and the songwriter has already amassed an impressive catalog of beautifully homespun indie folk. Like Dying Stars, We're Reaching Out follows Runnner's 2021 collection album, Always Repeating, and marks his most fully realized work to date. The album is a culmination of years of songwriting and home-recording that manages to feel both intimate and cinematic all at once. Lyrically Weinman is often preoccupied with communication and the things that can go unspoken, even between people with a deep emotional bond. The songwriter describes a hectic headspace and the challenges of opening up in a way that feels at once highly specific and deeply relatable, all while the music unfolds in ways that are instantly appealing but reveal themselves even more with each listen--like an old friend that's still surprising you.
