Advance Base "Horrible Occurrences" LP out 12/6

New Single/Video "The Year I Lived In Richmond"

Advance Base is back! Owen Ashworth's beloved and long-running project has returned with the announcement of his new album, Horrible Occurrences, due out December 6th.

Ashworth has been staying busy—touring, running Orindal Records, releasing a 2021 covers album Wall of Tears & Other Songs I Didn't Write, and a handful of singles—but Horrible Occurrences marks the first full album of Advance Base originals since 2018's Animal Companionship. The album is well worth the wait. Full of richly detailed sounds and lyrics, Horrible Occurrences is a beautiful and deeply human record that tap into everything that’s so unique about Ashworth's writing and way with melody.

Advance Base has also shared the album's first single, "The Year I Lived In Richmond." Horrible Occurrences is a concept album set in the fictional town of Richmond, which Ashworth describes as a "place where all the bad memories live." The themes might be dark but "The Year I Lived In Richmond" is a gorgeous cut of warbling keyboards and warm vocals that introduces listeners to the imaginary town as well as a new chapter for Advance Base.
