Black Clouds Change Name to Tiny Empires + Eric Gets Married

Black  Clouds have been forced to change their name due to unfortunate legal reasons. They will now be known as Tiny Empires, and their first show under the new moniker will be Eric of TE’s Wedding Party at Asbury Lanes, featuring Bridge And Tunnel, Bomb the Music Industry, and Mike Park. The Tigers Jaw Split 7″ art has been redone with the new name, and is currently being printed.

Here’s some words from the band about their existence, name change, and upcoming show.

1. We are a new band with dudes from Senders, Mid Carson July, and a bunch of other bands nobody liked.

2. We have a record coming out that is a split with a much more popular band than us. (tigersjaw split 7″ on Run For Cover)

3. We are working on a full-length (5 songs deep so far)

4. We used to be called Black Clouds but apparently that name belongs to another band, that wants to be our friends, but also wants to sue us.

5. We are playing our first show next weekend with a bunch of much more popular bands than us. (bomb the music industry, bridge and tunnel, mike park, fellow project)

6. We rule.

7. Our drummer used to be Evil Kenevil but now is one of these guys http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_who_say_Ni and will probably be Evil Kenevil again once he comes back to life. (Our drummer jason got into a motorcycle accident so our friend Greg who was in Chillerton(UK) is filling in)

Tigers Jaw / Black Clouds Split 7″ Update

We have some bad/weird news regarding these splits shipping. Black Clouds have run into some legal trouble regarding their name and are unfortunately going to have to change it due to another band owning the copyright. We are currently in the process of getting the covers printed with their new name, and expect a setback of only 7-10 days. The vinyl is complete and digital downloads will be sent out in the next 48 hours.

Thanks for understanding and we will update you again soon!

Run For Cover to Release Anne – Power Exchange 7″

Run For Cover Records is incredibly excited to announce a brand new 7″ from Portland, Oregon’s Anne.  Anne’s new 7″, titled Power Exchange, is the band’s follow-up to the acclaimed 2011 collection LP Dream Punx.

A review from Brooklyn Vegan

“Lush arrangements that tip their hat to The Jesus & Mary Chain, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, and My Bloody Valentine… While Anne clearly sit in the shimmering shoegaze groove, the band offer their own take on the genre”

A review from Punknews

“A brilliant contrast of post-punk variants… Dream Punx solidifies ANNE’s place in this (shoegaze) revival and reinvention, and it’s going to be exciting to see where they help take it.”

Pre-orders along with a free download of Anne’s Mixtape Vol. 2 coming soon.  For now, check out “Virginal Plight” from the Dream Punx LP below, and pick up a copy of the record in the RFC Store at www.runforcoverrecords.com/store
